This will show what's going on in and around Gin Pit, Astley.

This is the hub of the local area, time is only slowly catching up and it still retains it's village identity, from local sports to summer fete's and it's focal point the Welfare club.

Here you will find all sorts of activities, cricket, football, bowls, tennis, cycle speedway, whippets, running & karate clubs, to name a few.

A group of local riders who use the tracks and roads at the back of Gin Pit came down Meanley Lane to have a well earned refreshment at the club around 30 horses arrived on a very busy Sunday afternoon.

We'll done to the lads for getting to the final. Congratulations to Westhoughton on winning the cup 2-1 and a great game played in the right spirit.
